Kane Williamson & Henry Nicholls + UNICEF
New Zealand Cricket captain Kane Williamson and teammate Henry Nicholls collaborated with world humanitarian group, UNICEF, to help deliver and amplify a number of important messages to the public.
Campaigns
We worked with our players to understand how they could most effectively use their platform to help UNICEF achieve their objectives. Both Williamson and Nicholls were active on social media in raising funds for water and hygiene packages to be sent to places in need, with Williamson also writing a newspaper article. In a separate campaign, Nicholls auctioned off his ICC Cricket World-Cup jersey to raise money for New Zealand families and children.
Results
The social posts from Williamson and Nicholls reached an audience of more than 500,000 people and received international media attention. Williamson’s article was published in the largest online publication within New Zealand, while Henry Nicholls’ world cup shirt helped raise more than NZD $700,000 to feed families within New Zealand.
