Objective
Working with representatives of Six Nations, SANZAAR and World Rugby to determine the potential commercial returns from changes to the structure of the rugby Test match calendar.

Approach
Pitch built a model to forecast the potential impact on broadcaster revenues of two suggested fixture formats. The approach included consulting with nine key broadcasters of rugby – across all rugby union markets, covering free-to-air, pay-TV and streaming operators – to gain feedback on the agreed shortlist of potential format options. Alongside this, Pitch assessed the optimal rights distribution and go-to-market strategies.

Results
In the form of a long-form report, Pitch provided comprehensive recommendations on the long-term impact of competition structure and calendar changes on broadcast and revenue.
