Working Together
Pitch’s remit involves driving reach, revenue and relevance for the USGA’s portfolio of properties including the US Open, US Women’s Open and US Senior Open. Our advisory approach involves providing detailed market-by-market assessments and valuations ahead of each sales cycle. This includes a detailed set of qualitative and quantitative recommendations. We then work hand-in-hand with the USGA Executive to set a sales strategy in each market, driving competition where appropriate and maximising the opportunity for the USGA to extract full value for its media rights. As part of our ongoing service to the USGA we provide audience analysis and benchmarking against golfs other Majors, as well as ongoing contract and account management.
Results
Global viewership for the US Open has quadrupled in the recent years, with international media revenues doubling over the same period. Our initial remit in 2014 was to advise the USGA in the APAC region, for media rights only. We have since expanded that relationship to our full suite of insight and advisory services, across all territories outside the US. In addition to driving incremental revenue, we have secured improved qualitative commercial terms for the USGA, including increased minimum broadcast obligations and promotional commitments and localisation across the USGA’s portfolio of properties.
