Pitch’s remit involves driving reach and revenues for the USGA’s portfolio of properties including the US Open, US Women’s Open and US Senior Open. Our advisory approach involves providing detailed market-by-market assessments and valuations ahead of each cycle. This includes a detailed set of qualitative and quantitative recommendations. We then work hand-in-hand with the USGA Executive to set a sales strategy in each market, driving competition where appropriate and maximising the opportunity for the USGA to extract full value for its media rights. As part of our ongoing service to the USGA we provide audience analysis and benchmarking against golfs other Majors, as well as ongoing contract and account management.
Global viewership for the US Open has quadrupled in the last four years, with media revenues doubling. Our initial remit covered advising the USGA on Asian media rights sales, which was subsequently expanded to all territories outside the US. In addition to driving revenue uplifts we have secured a far superior set of qualitative commercial terms through broadcast partners, including minimum broadcast obligations and promotional commitments across the USGA’s portfolio of properties.
