South Korea will host two of Europe’s best football clubs this July, with Manchester City Football Club and Atlético Madrid to square off in the second edition of the Coupang Play Series

Pitch International, in partnership with Coupang Play, will organise the pre-season event, and distribute the media rights outside of Korea.

The fixture follows the success of the inaugural event in 2022, which saw Tottenham Hotspur play Team K-League and Sevilla FC.

Head of Coupang Play, Stephen Kim, said he is confident the star-studded current Premier League champions will generate significant interest in the series once more.

“Soccer fans as well as our customers showed us so much love when Son Heung-min and Tottenham Hotspur visited last year,” adding, “With the great teams that are visiting this year, I very much look forward to touching the hearts of our customers once again,” said Kim.

The event will represent the second football tournament Pitch International has played a hand in organising this year, having recently managed all aspects of the popular international women’s football tournament, the Arnold Clark Cup.
