Pitch Productions Secure Cannes Premiere and Netflix Releases
Heading: An exceptional run of announcements for Pitch International’s Production team, including a Cannes Film Festival premiere and multiple Netflix releases
It has been an exceptional period for Pitch's Production team, marked by a series of high‑profile announcements across its latest slate of projects.
Pitch is proud to confirm that its feature documentary Cantona, directed by David Tryhorn and Ben Nicholas, has been selected for its world premiere in the Special Screenings section at the Cannes Film Festival this May.
The film explores the extraordinary career of Eric Cantona, one of football’s most charismatic and influential figures, and features contributions from Cantona himself alongside Sir Alex Ferguson and David Beckham. Four years in the making, the selection of Cantona on such a prestigious global stage represents a significant milestone and a proud moment for the entire production team.
Momentum continued shortly after the Cannes announcement, with Netflix revealing two new Pitch‑produced films set to stream in May as part of the acclaimed documentary series Untold, which arrives in the UK for the first time. Pitch has produced two of the three films in this UK strand.
Liverpool’s Miracle of Istanbul, directed by Matt Rudge, revisits one of football’s most iconic moments, Liverpool’s dramatic comeback in the 2004/05 UEFA Champions League final. The film features exclusive interviews with figures including Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Rafael Benítez, Xabi Alonso, Jerzy Dudek and Michael Owen, and will premiere on 19 May.
This is followed by Vinnie Jones, directed by David Tryhorn and Ben Nicholas, which charts Vinnie Jones’ journey from football’s most notorious hard man to an unlikely Hollywood redemption story. Featuring exclusive contributions from Vinnie Jones, John Fashanu, Dave Bassett, Sam Hammam and Bobby Gould, the documentary will stream on 26 May.
