FA Women's Super League

International media rights distribution

Appointment

Pitch was appointed by The FA as the exclusive international media rights advisor and sales agent for the FA WSL. Pitch recognised that a significant increase in the quality of the competition, combined with a change in mindset amongst major international broadcasters, had created an opportunity to grow the league’s global profile.

Approach

Pitch identified the best strategic commercial partners to meet The FA’s key objectives. As a part of this process. Pitch balanced the demands of its broadcasters with The FA's ambitions for its own OTT platform and worked with both sides to create an enhanced product.

Results

Pitch secured the FA WSL's first-ever international broadcast deal. Following that milestone, the competition now reaches 110 million homes, across USA, Canada, Central America, Scandinavia, Africa, Australia and Israel. These deals helped to open up new revenue streams as well as drive enhanced value for The FA’s commercial partners.
