Pitch has been in partnership with New Zealand Cricket (NZC) since 2012, originally acquiring all men's and women's international media rights for an eight-year period. The partnership has since expanded, with a further six-year agreement to advise on the international rights, as well as being appointed to advise on the sale of domestic rights in New Zealand.
Pitch provides a full advisory service to NZC, including market-by-market assessments and valuations in all key cricket markets, defining the media rights strategy and sales for all international territories, as well as conducting the full sales process in all international markets.
The success of Pitch’s role in selling international rights for the first cycle resulted in an expanded domestic and international rights remit. We delivered a significant uplift in the value of domestic rights, through driving a competitive bid process and bringing a new entrant into the process (Spark). The outcome was an innovative Pay (Spark) and free-to-air (TVNZ) partnership.
